Chichen Itza is located in the state of Yucatán, Mexico, approximately 120 kilometers east of the city of Mérida and about 200 kilometers north of Cancún. It is situated on the Yucatán Peninsula, in the midst of the tropical rainforest.

Chichen Itza is open every day of the week. Its usual opening hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, I recommend checking in advance as the hours may vary depending on the season or special events. Additionally, the last entry is typically allowed around 4:30 p.m. to make the most of the visit.

Sacred Cenote of Chichen Itza

Although it is within the same archaeological site, this cenote holds great historical significance, as it was used by the Mayans for religious rituals and sacrifices. It is not for swimming, but you can learn about its history and its use in the past.
